Something’s Always Happening in Georgetown Texas

Georgetown is a community rich in traditions and celebrations. The various festivals and parades, and associated events, reflect the small town charm of Georgetown. From the lighting of the Christmas Tree in November and Christmas Stroll in December to April’s Red Poppy Festival, monthly First Fridays (February through November), Second Saturday Market Days (March through November) and Concerts,  and more... you'll appreciate the classic, hometown feeling.

Held annually in April to celebrate the bright red wildflowers that dot the yards through Old Town, the Red Poppy Festival includes the Red Poppy Market Place which features artisans from across the nation, the Open Car Show, the Safe Place Kids Village, and a Saturday Night Concert and Street Dance!

The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas provides an idyllic setting for Music on the Square, a free summer concert series on Friday nights June through August.

One of the largest family events in Central Texas, Georgetown's Fourth of July celebration sponsored by the Sertoma Club is held along the river at San Gabriel Park and features vendors, petting zoo, parade, live entertainment, train rides and more. A highlight of the celebration is the fabulous fireworks finale at dark.

The Christmas season is a particularly special time on the Georgetown Square. The Lighting of the Square held at dusk the Friday after Thanksgiving, kicks off the holiday season with families and friends gathering on the Square to sing Christmas carols and enjoy hot chocolate and cookies as they watch the Square come alive with Christmas lights. The Georgetown Christmas Stroll held on the first Saturday of December includes a hometown holiday parade, Bethlehem Village, over 100 arts and crafts booths, live entertainment, children's activities, and of course, the shops on the Square are decked out for the holidays.
