Assisted Living Communities
Assisted Living Communities (AL) allow residents the opportunity to live independently with some assistance with daily living activities, including: bathing, dressing, grooming, housekeeping, and medication monitoring. Facilities are licensed. Medical services vary depending on the licensure type for the particular community. Enough supervision and support are provided so that residents can live in their own apartments, maintaining some sense of independence.
Apartments are small; but usually studio, one- and two-bedroom units are available. While meals are provided in a common dining room, apartments generally include a kitchenette. Residents have access to in-house amenities such as libraries, theaters, salons, spas, pools, and game rooms.
AL’s are private pay. Apartments are rented on a month-to-month basis; some may require a lease agreement. Rates vary depending on size of apartment and services provided.
